Hello, just a couple of comments about the group hug email. It is very very long, and most people are too busy to read very long things. Secondly, there is a big gathering together of different groups in London on the 21st April, called The Big One. For the first time, large groups like XR and Greenpeace, trade unions, charities, churches, are gathering together under one banner, to get the government to act against climate change and with climate justice at its heart. So these groups are at least starting to coalesce in the UK. I'm not sure what's happening abroad, but yes, we really need to stop creating new movements and start gathering together.

Yes, I do tend to be long winded. However I am not writing for entertainment purposes. I have hopes for that gathering in the UK, I have hopes for the protest actions in France. They will only be successful if they persist and sustain cohesion. I am concerned on any focus on getting the current govts anywhere changing their direction. I am convinced they are not capable of changing an the effort has to focus on removal and replacement by politicians that actually represent the people. Here in North America - people have slipped into some kind of lethargic state. I know there is energy there but it has to be ignited/fired up. Any coalition is great - hopefully they come to focus on common ground and sustain it. Change is not going to be a quick one-off action.
