Thanks, Danny. I'm looking forward to voting Green in the US & Canada.

I've often thought the Green Party kinda stays on the sidelines by focusing on "ballot access," that is, getting their candidate printed on the ballot (accomplished through laborious petitioning, fees, etc). Forty-one states allows candidates to easily get on as write-in candidates (and one of the remaining nine, Louisiana, allows easy printed ballot access). If the Green Party has motivated the electorate writing the candidate in should not be a problem; it's the oldest mode of democracy (I think). It also requires a paper ballot, enhancing ballot security. My impression is the party uses the difficulty of ballot access as a way to avoid accountability for the effectiveness of their campaigns (staying on the sidelines).

Ballot access in itself does not change anything. Under the assumption (or even the reality) that total system change is required now is the time to pursue actions that lead to that system change. I do not have much faith in the electoral system as it is merely a corrupt broken component of the corrupt broken system we have. Now is the time for the GP to elevate its game - that is what I am asking them to do. I dont expect them to, but it is worth the taking the shot. November 5th will come and go - the corrupt broken system will remain. We are no further ahead. Change will have to comes by alternative means. This call on the GP would be a good peaceful path for change. As such, its worth the shot - even though the odds are slim. No stone left un-turned for peaceful revolution is how I would sum it up ...
