The power to change everything is sitting right at our feet.
We only have to take one single step - which is to reach out and embrace it.
We can even look at it. Here - take a look.
Can you see it? It is sitting right in front of your eyes. It is called democracy. “Government by the people especially: rule of the majority”.
I cannot dispute it. That would involve arguing with a dictionary!
Look at the definition again. The majority rules. The majority has all the authority. We already have the power and we already have the authority.
We do not have to build it. We do not have to protest, demonstrate, and demand it. We already have it!
What we have to do is embrace it. Me standing alone has no power. Your standing alone has no power. But - us standing together ignites the power.
Unity is the lifeblood of democratic power. Unity is democracy’s oxygen. To engage and wield the power of democracy we need to unite. Together we have all the power we need to be free, to be liberated, and to determine the direction of our societies, our communities, and our lives. That is what self-determination means.
Together we have the power and the authority to make all the decisions we need to actually have the world we all want. Engaging the power of democracy elevates each of us by elevating all of us. Every voice gets heard, every issue gets discussed, and every action step taken and decision made is reflected by the majority among us. That is how democracy works.
There is no complexity, difficulty or challenge to overcome. And there is only one requirement: We just have to stand together!
Let’s get our asses in gear and stand together!
Division is our enemy. It is the kryptonite that keeps the authority of democracy resting powerless at our feet - keeping it just out of our reach. Lifeless. Reject division.
Embrace each other. We need to get our strength from the common ground that we all share. We have so much more common ground than we have division. We all want peace, equity, justice, fairness, and equal opportunity. We all want a clean environment, clean air, clean water and to be treated with respect.
We all want a safe and secure future for our kids and the generations that follow them. We all want our societies to be enriched with communities that are vibrant and flourish. The list of what we all want is endless.
We are all individuals and we have issues, beliefs, and opinions that divide us. But those divisions are few. The commonalities we share far and away exceed the issues that divide us. We need to respect that we have our individual differences and to unite around the common ground that we share.
If we don’t, we will fail to engage the power and authority democracy offers us. Democracy will remain powerless at our feet. We will fail to pick it up.
How many of us find the status quo acceptable? How many of us find our current situation and trajectories to be on the path we want to be on? They stink - and we all know it. So … let’s get off our asses and unite and send ourselves in the direction we want to go!
We have the power and we have the authority. Reach down and pick it up!!!
Democratic Institutions
Do not concern yourself with the current democratic institutions we have representing us. They are broken beyond repair - we acknowledge that.
As we unite, we engage our power and our authority. We will determine - together - who represents us in our political institutions. We will do that on a community-by-community basis. And we will select our representatives among us for who will best represent us.
The power and authority to do that will come to us.
Let’s focus on igniting and engaging our power. For now, feel free to ignore the political parties, the formal election cycles, and the current dysfunctional institutions of political discourse. For now. The power and authority to change them all will come to us.
Let’s focus on engaging our power and our authority. Let’s unify so we have the power to address this.
Enablers
Do not concern yourself with the failures of our corporate media outlets, our biased legal systems, or our corrupted corporate and economic systems. These too are dysfunctional.
As we unite, we will - among ourselves - have the power and authority to replace and re-design these dysfunctional institutions ourselves. The power and authority to change them will come to us. Set them aside - for now.
Let’s focus on engaging our power and our authority. Let’s unify so we have the power to address this.
Engagement
We all are individuals and we have our own levels of comfort in how we engage. We respect each other’s differences. We embrace everyone that shares our desire for better societies, communities, and lives.
We need every single one of you! You need us! We need us all! Some will be motivated to engage in actions, organizing, and amplifying our mission. Some will be comfortable offering quiet moral support. We need and embrace you all.
Yes. We will need to organize and act - on numerous fronts. We will need to amplify each other’s actions. However, all actions will be stronger when they are supported by overall public opinion. So, regardless of your personal comfort level of engagement - we need you. We need your quiet support. We need your active support. We need everyone that is comfortable at all levels in-between. We need us all. We are all members of the 99%.

Our first objective is to get 100 of us. From there, we go for 1,000 of us. And then 10,000 of us … 100,000 of us … 1-million of us ... Every step of the way, our power gets stronger. Our authority comes to us. The power and authority to chart the direction of our societies, our communities, and our lives becomes ours.
The power and authority of democracy is sitting at our feet. Reach down and pick it up.
We go together. This is The Permanent Occupy. We are the majority and we are occupying our democracy. We are embracing the power and authority it gives us. Because it is ours. And we are here to stay. Permanently.
Looks like we got some recruiting to do.
