November 22, 1963. I remember that day. Because it was different. I was a month shy of my sixth birthday and there was a vibe that I felt that was different. The routines of my parents and those around them were different.
The TV was constantly on which was, in itself, not the usual routine. Black and white images interrupted by the usual occasional static of rabbit-ear reception signals, the sombre voices of journalists, and the eerie silence of my parents - occasionally punctuated by their voices reflecting moments of grief, anger, disbelief and loss. I did not grasp what was going on - but I remember the vibe generated by the exception of that day. It disrupted my routine life of that time.
Times were very different back then in 1963. First and foremost, our institutions were trusted. Walter Cronkite and his journalist colleagues were trusted sources of information - thoughts of media mistrust were not even contemplated factors. Our governments were trusted to be giving us the truth. Our law enforcement and justice infrastructures were believed to be just (not that they were of course which we now realize - but they were given that unquestionable and unassailable trust). That is how it was in 1963.
President John F Kennedy was assassinated. Shot dead as his motorcade passed through Dealey Plaza in the early afternoon of Dallas Texas.
And that is when the cover-up began. A flurry of activity designed to create the story behind the assassination of a President. The creation of history itself - not based in the truth - but based on a story line and chain of events that would be created by powerful vested interests that had their authority and positions of power threatened by this President. The story had to fit a mission to remove the threat to powerful interests of the time by a President that was not following the script of those powerful interests.
Who are these powerful interests? We do not know. We can speculate based on motives as to who would be threatened by the President. Who would gain from the President’s “removal”? Was it organized crime? It could be. Was it the military industrial complex? It could be. Was it a radicalized political action group? It could be.
Was it a lone gunman named Lee Harvey Oswald who acted on his own personal ideological beliefs? Not a chance. This is the one explanation that cannot be proven based on the facts.
But it is the lone gunman (Lee Harvey Oswald) theory that the historical record officially proclaims. History has been corrupted and we need it corrected. We need to dig into this.
Because November 22, 1963 was the day that our democracy was taken from us. And it remains that way today. Only by correcting the history of what transpired on November 22, 1963 can we take our democracy back. We need the truth.
A Theory of History
I see two events that have set the stage for where we sit today … which is a government of the most powerful country being a corrupted enterprise. A government that does not represent its people, its communities or its society. The assassination of President Kennedy is the second of them. The first is a warning by another President made only a few years prior to that fateful day that we are - for the most part - completely ignoring. These two events are related.
In his final speech from the White House, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned that an arms race would take resources from other areas -- such as building schools and hospitals.
Bill Allen/AP
In his farewell address on January 17, 1961, President Dwight Eisenhower directly warned us of the threat of the military industrial complex to democracy itself. He even coined the term “Military Industrial Complex”.
I am not going to delve into this event of President Eisenhower’s statement other than to state that we need to pay a lot more attention to it because his prediction has not only come home to roost - it needs to be acted upon.
I see a connection between both Eisenhower’s warning and Kennedy’s assassination.
Undoubtedly, President Kennedy listened to Eisenhower’s farewell speech. And he acted on it. Kennedy did not see the rising conflict in Vietnam to be winnable and he acted on it. The Assassination Archives and Research Centre states: “In National Security Action Memorandum 263, dated October 11, 1963, Kennedy articulated his decision to withdraw all US military forces from Vietnam by the end of 1965 — with the withdrawal to be completed after the 1964 election. This was the formal policy of the United States government on the day he died.”
This was a direct threat to the military industrial complex - who we now know profits at extreme levels from war and conflict. Kennedy had to be stopped. That is called a motive - a motive for the removal (assassination; murder) of a President. A motive based in financial profit and greed.
So, on November 22, 1963 President Kennedy was assassinated. Then the cover-up had to take place. The public - worldwide - had to be given a story that explained the murder of a President and that gave them a villain for it.
The story had to be created. In comes the “official” investigation. The Warren Commission is created on November 29, 1963 through Executive Order 11130 by President Lyndon B Johnson to investigate - and explain the story - of the assassination of President Kennedy.
The Warren Commission is complete crap. There is just no other way to put it. They did not investigate. They did not call on many of the witnesses that were there! One key direct witness was S.M. “Sam” Holland, who was interviewed following the release of the Warren Commission Report and completely refuted its findings. Sam Holland gave his rationale for the Commission in its report:
“Let me say this - The Warren Commission - I think - had to report in their book what they wanted the world to believe when they read The Warren Commission. As you know - as well as I know - everyone in the world was reading this one commission [sic] and it had to read like they wanted it to read. They had to prove that Oswald did it alone.”
An investigation actually was done and released three-years after the fact. It is called “Rush to Judgment”. This was an unofficial investigation by Mark Lane and presents considerable direct evidence (including numerous eye-witness interviews) that presents a defence of Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone shooter.
This video - black and white - is full of facts, explanations, and direct interviews. It provides numerous credible explanations that indicate Oswald is either innocent or did not act alone. It is credible. The evidence completely contradicts the official report issued by the Warren Commission. It shocks me that - even though it was posted on YouTube in 2016 - it only has about 10,000 views. I recommend you add to the view count by watching it.
After watching this eye-opening account of not only the events surrounding November 22, 1963 - but more so of the events that paint and create a story of that event - ask yourself which is the most credible and plausible explanation for the role of Lee Harvey Oswald as the killer (scapegoat) of John F Kennedy:
Oswald acted alone (the story we have been fed but fails to match the evidence);
Oswald acted in concert with others (plausible but only by setting him up to be a patsy in the scheme of things); or
Oswald is innocent (as he repeatedly stated before he himself was assassinated).
I am not the only one with the theory that Oswald did not act alone. Many of you are aware of the Oliver Stone account in his 1991 film “JFK”.
Many of you may also be aware of the musical rendition released by Bob Dylan “Murder Most Foul” in 2020. Dylan has been known to have emphasized that his fascination is more about the event (and its cover-up) than with President John F Kennedy himself (a sentiment I personally tend to echo).
The Implications for Today
This is all a theory. But I cannot get myself to escape it. I see this all as a trajectory - a path - where the Establishment has taken our democracy from us and weaponized it for their own personal motives - motives entrenched in greed and power.
Prior to the 1960’s the Military Industrial Complex (and the rise of mega-corporate power) developed. It became powerful within our own government and institutional bodies. It became powerful enough to have a President (a Republican by the way) issue a stern warning to us all about their rise to power in 1961.
The next President sought to resist their power - and he paid for that resistance with his life. The Establishment became powerful enough to remove him from office through murder - call it what it is, which is murder.
In 1963, even the Establishment could not foresee the rise of technology and the access to the full information flow that we have today. They could not anticipate that we would have the power among us to actually review events that were recorded and could be quickly massively distributed in videos and records. For proof of that ignorance, they felt it was safe to withhold all documentation, records, and evidence from the public for 50-years. They were comfortable with issuing a promise to release those records 50-years up the road. In 1992, Congress passed a law to release all the records in 2017.
Well … 2017 has come and gone and we have no records. The Trump Administration delayed it further. The Biden Administration followed suit and delayed it again. Why all the delay? What are they hiding?
As I write this, the new release date is scheduled to be December 15, 2022. Are we actually going to - finally - get our records? Are they going to be fully released - or redacted to the extreme?
I am not the only one who is skeptical that we will get them. The Mary Ferrell Foundation filed a federal lawsuit against President Joe Biden and the National Archives to unseal the records.
We need these records because we need to know our history - and we need to know it accurately. We need - and deserve - the truth. We need to know who runs our government.
November 22, 1963. The day that the Establishment believed it had the authority to wield its power over us all by any and all means necessary. And the day they created their own version of history. If they get away with this, it really is the day we lost our democracy. Because it is the day they took it.
